Notice:In most cases, users shouldn’t compile fwupd from scratch; it’s a complex project with dozens of dependencies (and many configuration options), and there’s just too many things that can go wrong.

Users can install and update fwupd through Linux distributions that are managed and tested by package maintainers who will also do some testing of fwupd interacting with other software on the system, such as GNOME software.
